Caxi Connect Fair Usage & Legal Policy
1. Nature of the Platform
Caxi acts strictly as an aggregator and technology platform. We provide a marketplace ("Caxi Connect") that facilitates peer-to-peer connection and fare negotiation between Driver Partners and Customers. Caxi does not employ drivers, does not own the vehicles, and does not provide transportation services. By using Caxi Connect, you acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and solely responsible for the execution, safety, and legality of the ride.
2. The 10-Ride Grace Period & Tier System
To ensure high-quality service, Caxi Connect uses a tiered access system. New drivers are granted a 10-Ride Grace Period to build their metrics while being shielded from percentage-based penalties. However, absolute cancellation limits still apply to protect the platform during this period:
- 3 Cancellations: Triggers an automatic 24-hour timeout.
- 5 Cancellations: Results in a permanent restriction from Caxi Connect.
After 10 rides, access is determined purely by your Rating and Completion Rate:
- Tier 1 (Instant): Rating: 4.8+ | Completion: 90%+ | Delay: 0s
- Tier 2 (Standard): Rating: 4.5+ | Completion: 80%+ | Delay: 15s
- Tier 3 (Delayed): Rating: <4.5 | Completion: <80% | Delay: 30s
3. Quality Restrictions & Penalties
If your metrics fall below our minimum community standards, you will face temporary or permanent restrictions to protect the customer experience.
- Tier 3.5 (Temporary Suspension): If your Completion Rate drops below 75% (but remains above 70%), you will automatically receive a 24-hour timeout from accessing the Caxi Connect feed.
- Tier 4 (Permanent Restriction): If your Rating drops below 4.0 OR your Completion Rate drops below 70%, you will be placed in Tier 4. Tier 4 drivers are strictly restricted from accepting Caxi Connect rides.
To lift a Tier 4 restriction, you can use your one-time appeal through the Caxi Partner app to request a temporary waiver, or you must successfully complete standard Caxi rides until your metrics recover above the minimum thresholds.
4. Cancellation & No-Show Penalties
Accepting a ride is a commitment. To ensure reliability for customers, monetary penalties are automatically applied for late cancellations or no-shows (ghosting).
- Free Cancel Window: You may cancel a ride without penalty within 5 minutes of accepting it. Your platform commission will be fully refunded to your wallet.
- Late Cancellation: If you cancel after the free window, your commission is forfeited, and a cancellation penalty (typically 5% of the fare, between ₹50–₹300) will be deducted from your wallet. This penalty is directly passed on to the customer as compensation for the inconvenience.
- No-Show (Ghosting): If you do not arrive at the pickup location by the scheduled time (plus a 15-minute grace period), the ride will be reassigned. A severe no-show penalty (typically 10% of the fare, between ₹100–₹500) will be deducted, your cancellation metrics will take a double hit, and you will receive a temporary timeout from accessing the Connect feed. This penalty is directly passed on to the customer as compensation.
- Negative Balance Policy: If your wallet balance is insufficient to cover a penalty, your balance will go negative. Penalties will be automatically deducted from your future ride earnings.
5. Platform Connection Fee
Caxi Connect charges a dynamic platform connection fee based on the total negotiated offer amount. This fee must be paid upon successful ride assignment.
- Offer up to ₹1,000 — ₹10 Fee
- Offer up to ₹2,000 — ₹20 Fee
- Offer up to ₹3,000 — ₹30 Fee
- Offer up to ₹5,000 — ₹50 Fee
- Offer up to ₹10,000 — ₹100 Fee
- Offer up to ₹20,000 — ₹200 Fee
6. Financial Terms & Dispute Resolution
- Direct Payment Collection: For cash rides, the Driver Partner is solely responsible for collecting the full negotiated fare directly from the customer. Caxi is not liable for unpaid fares, bad debts, or partial payments.
- Platform Fees: Platform fees are strictly non-refundable once a ride is completed or cancelled.
- Toll & State Taxes: Unless explicitly stated in the offer negotiation, the Customer is responsible for paying applicable tolls and border taxes. Drivers must clearly communicate this before starting the trip.
7. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Caxi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, personal injury, property damage, or monetary loss related to, in connection with, or otherwise resulting from any use of the Caxi Connect services.
As a Driver Partner, you agree to indemnify and hold Caxi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the services, your breach or violation of any of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party (including Customers).
8. Off-Platform Deals & Account Suspension
Caxi Connect is built on trust. Attempting to bypass the platform by exchanging contact details to complete the ride off-platform, artificially cancelling rides to avoid commission, or engaging in fraudulent behavior will result in immediate and permanent suspension of your Partner Account and forfeiture of your wallet balance.
